Career-Confidence.org Expands in Our Region
By Will Schirmer
The pandemic has affected the way organizations interact with the people they serve. Such is the case with Career-Confidence.org, which originated in the Washington DC area, providing expert job search skills and education, while expressing genuine Christian compassion. While the doors closed for local in-person meetings, other doors opened to start virtual meetings throughout the country, including Greater Philadelphia.
With the return to face-to-face gatherings, Career Confidence plans to transition the Philadelphia area to in-person weekly seminars. At the end of each seminar, someone takes 8-10 minutes to tell the audience about the difference Jesus made in their lives. When we share our stories, we are pointing people to a relationship with Jesus.
In 2022, Career Confidence hopes to have over 100 Saturday webinars/seminars throughout the country. Each one requires someone to tell their story of how Jesus changed their life. Training sessions and coaching are offered to first time Christian story speakers.
On November 13, 2021, the first training session was held here at TMC for people to learn how to tell how Jesus changed their life concisely and powerfully. A second training was held yesterday (January 29th), and two more are scheduled this year for March 19th and May 21st. These sessions have been attended by members of Towamencin Mennonite as well as people in the community who want to share their testimony.
There will always be a need for followers of Jesus to tell their stories.
Everyone who attends a seminar or webinar learns an important truth – “Jobs Come and Go; Jesus is Eternal.” For more information, visit www.careerconfidence.org.
