Caroling Summary

By Brandon Lee

On Tuesday, the MYF went caroling in the neighborhood behind TMC with a few other members of our congregation; we were about 20 in all. We caroled to at least 30 houses and were pleased with the warm reception we received from each family that came to their doors to listen and receive candy canes. As if that weren’t enough, the last house we went to would have made it all worthwhile. After singing two songs at their door with no sign of anyone approaching, they appeared in the doorway and were so excited we sang another three for them. That family told us how much it meant for them to receive our caroling with the rough holiday season they have had so far. Please keep that family, and all the families in that neighborhood, in your prayers. Here’s the note we included with the candy canes:

Look at the candy cane

What do you see?

Stripes that are red

Like the bloodshed for me

White’s for my Savior

Who’s sinless and pure!

“J” is for Jesus, My Lord,

That’s for sure!

Turn it around and

a staff you will see

Jesus my Shepherd

Was born for me!
